LifeTeam Education Manager Recognized at National Convention

LifeTeam, a critical care air and ground ambulance service, is pleased to announce that Karen Larsen, LifeTeam’s Education Manager, was recently recognized at the National EMS Expo in Atlanta, GA on October 28, 2009. Formed in 1975, and today more than 30,000 members strong, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) is the nation’s only organization solely dedicated to representing the professional interests of all EMS practitioners, including paramedics, emergency medical technicians, first responders and other professionals working in pre-hospital emergency medicine.

The Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) education program recognized two of the NAEMT affiliate faculty members nationwide, with Karen Larsen being selected as an outstanding educator. Ms. Larsen has been named as an affiliate faculty member for AMLS for the past three years. AMLS is the first education program that addresses the most common medical complaints and offers a "think outside the box" method of assessing and managing a patient in medical crisis. Ms. Larsen was one of the two educators recognized with an award for commitment and dedication to NAEMT’S AMLS program in Region 3, which includes Kansas and 14 other states. Karen was nominated for her efforts in education that have gone above and beyond those expected of affiliate faculty members.

Ms. Larsen is currently a duel certified flight nurse and paramedic with LifeTeam and also serves as the education manager for the company. LifeTeam recognizes there is an increased demand for education in rural communities and thereby offers specialized courses on-site at hospitals and EMS agencies. Ms. Larsen’s focus is to assist LifeTeam healthcare partners throughout the state with continuing education for their employees.
